At Glass Beach in Fort Bragg, California, a former sea captain connects the act of discovery to cosmic forces from the International Sea Glass Museum

In Fort Bragg, California, a former town dump that operated until the 1960s has become famed for its glistening coastline, scattered with thousands of pieces of colorful sea glass. For decades, the waves at Glass Beach have eroded shards of broken glass into smooth pebbles, transforming the landscape by turning trash into jewel-like forms.

What started as an exploration of sea glass soon transformed into a love letter to the chance encounter. The film pays homage to the power of turning trash into treasure, and our collective ability to move through hard times and come out the other side.

This experimental documentary connects the art of discovery to the logic of the cosmos, tracing the interplay between the act of searching and the faith that fate has a power of its own.
